Trideltas throughout the country have concentrated their philanthropic support toward children’s cancer research. Nationally, Tridelta has formed a partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where their doctors and researchers are responsible for the care of children with life threatening cases of cancer and other terminal illnesses. In 2006 we pledged to raise 10 million dollars in 10 years for St. Jude. After already surpassing this goal by 2010, our national goal has been changed to $15 million in 5 years!
Locally, our Beta Lambda chapter holds many annual events to help reach this goal. In the fall we hold our spaghetti dinner where we invite all of our Greek partners and local community to our home for an amazing Italian meal and exciting spaghetti eating contests. In the springs we hold our annual Triple Play softball tournament where every home run helps in the fight to find a cure for life threatening illnesses. All of the proceeds from our events go to help St. Jude as well as Arnold Palmer Hospitals locally. In addition, our chapter participates in a letter writing campaign called “Sincerely Yours.” Donations go directly to St. Jude. Tridelta also believes in being a part of the community at the University of Central Florida which is why each semester our calendar is full of Greek and other community events in which our sisters eager to participate.
